Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was, throughout the foremost a part of his life, not a fashionable man. He didn't sleep in a mansion. He didn't have a closet jam-packed with dazzling garments.
In fact, a number of his garments even had patches on them to hide the holes that have appeared.

The Prophet (s.a.w) smiled, took off his cloak and gave it to the sahabah as a gift. Muhammad (ﷺ) then went on home.
Then, the opposite sahabah who saw or detected regarding what happened began to taunt those particular sahabah. “Don’t you worry Allah? Can’t you see that the Prophet (ﷺ) badly required a replacement cloak? Why did you raise the Prophet (ﷺ) for his cloak? You recognize he's very generous. He wouldn’t reject anyone who can ask him for any price that he has. He continuously likes to create us happily.”
Such was the character of the Prophet (ﷺ), he was an altruistic, benevolent, caring, kind, charitable, thoughtful man. He continuously thought of others. If somebody gave the impression to be needing one thing over him, he would, in an exceeding heartbeat, give the issue to it personally. Though he had merely gotten the matter as a present.
“By Allah, I didn't fire it so that I will wear it. I asked him for the cloak as a result of I need to be buried in it,” same the sahabah.
Sure enough, the Sahabah did die shortly when the incident. The sahabah bathed him and buried him shrouding him with the cloak that when belonged to his beloved prophet.
